Loans Against Bullion and Krugerrands
Is Knox registered to provide asset-backed credit?
The short answer
Credit providers that lend under the National Credit Act must be registered with the National Credit Regulator. Knox Precious Metals (Pty) Ltd is a registered credit provider, NCR registration number NCRCP21466. You can check a credit provider's registration on the regulator's website using the registered entity name or registration number. Make sure the entity named on your quotation and credit agreement matches the registration, because trading names and legal entity names can differ.
What NCR registration means
The National Credit Regulator registers credit providers, credit bureaus and debt counsellors, and monitors compliance with the National Credit Act. A registered credit provider is subject to the Act's rules on disclosure, credit assessment, permitted interest and fees, statements, early settlement, default and complaints. Registration does not mean the regulator has approved a particular loan or its terms. How to check a registration
- Find the registration number and registered entity name on the provider's documents, such as the quotation or credit agreement.
- Search the register on the National Credit Regulator's website.
- Confirm that the entity name and status match, and that the entity on your credit agreement is the same registered entity.
